The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eliminating criminal activities within the FCT.
Speaking on Tuesday during the inauguration of the 15-kilometer road construction project connecting the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway (A2) to Pai in the Kwali Area Council, Wike announced intensified efforts to bolster security in the region.
Commending security agencies for their ongoing work to improve safety in both the city center and surrounding area councils, the minister disclosed that additional operational vehicles will be distributed to security operatives on Thursday to further enhance their capacity to combat crime.
“This will ensure that criminals will not have any breathing space in the FCT, especially as we approach the festive period,” Wike stated. “We will make sure they have nowhere to hide. I thank you for the excellent work you are already doing.”
The new distribution is part of a broader strategy to improve security across the territory. Earlier in July, the FCT Administration had distributed 50 operational vehicles equipped with communication gadgets to security agencies.
With the reinforced measures, Wike assured residents of a safer and more secure environment throughout December and beyond.
