Police Commissioner Launches Weapon and Riot Control Training for FCT Officers Democracy Radio

In a bold move to enhance the efficiency and discipline of officers, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Olatunji Disu, has initiated a Tactical Training Refresher Course for all officers and men under his command.
The comprehensive program, personally launched by CP Disu, commenced with officers directly attached to him, exemplifying his dedication to leading by example.
According to a statement by the command the training is designed to be conducted in phases, ensuring that all officers within the Command are equipped with essential skills, including professional communication, tactical operations, and public engagement.
The statement by the command PPRO, Josephine Adeh, under the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the training focuses on key areas such as weapon handling, marksmanship, musketry, and riot control.
This initiative aims to bolster the operational capabilities, professionalism, and preparedness of the officers in addressing modern policing challenges.
Speaking during the launch, CP Disu highlighted the significance of the training. “This program underscores our unwavering commitment to equipping every officer with the tools needed to tackle the evolving demands of policing. By starting with those closest to me, I aim to set a high standard for the entire Command. Ultimately, every officer, across all Divisions and Formations, will benefit from this initiative,” he stated.
This training underscores the Command’s commitment to improving public safety and ensuring a responsive Police force capable of safeguarding lives and property across the Federal Capital Territory.
