The Director General National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman has described as devastating the death of the Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf Okunrinjeje.
This is according to a statement issued on Sunday, by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri.
Professor Sulaiman said with the death of Balogun Ajikobi six years after ascending the stool of his forbearers, “a big vacuum has been created in the Emirate’s Traditional Institution, loosing notable members of the kingmakers and the occupant of a highly referred stool of one of the Four eminent warlords in the city of Garin Alimi.
According to the statement, he said the late Balogun Ajikobi will be remembered as a father to all in Ajikobi constituency whom he described as an epitome of simplicity, civility, humility, gentlity (Okunrinjeje) and piety.
The community leader recalled that the late Balogun’s remarkable reign witnessed progress, peaceful co -existence and development within his jurisdiction.
While commiserating with the immediate family of Balogun Ajikobi, the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Balogun Gambari, Alanamu, Fulani, Magaji Are and the entire people of the emirate, Professor Sulaiman prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the Late Balogun by accepting him into Jannat Firdaus and grant the Ajikobi Ward as well as his loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
