The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that two major road projects in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) will be completed and inaugurated by May 2025, as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-year anniversary.

Wike gave the assurance on Saturday while inspecting the 10.5-kilometer Kabusa–Ketti road and the 9.8-kilometer Kabusa–Takushara road, both of which are expected to boost infrastructure, ease transportation, and stimulate economic growth in FCT’s satellite towns.

“I’m impressed with the progress. By the end of May, both roads should be commissioned as part of Mr. President’s anniversary celebrations. What we’ve seen so far is very encouraging,” Wike told journalists during the inspection.

The Minister emphasised that the projects reflect President Tinubu’s directive to spread development evenly, ensuring satellite towns benefit alongside the city center.

“Mr. President’s consistent emphasis is that development must not be limited to the city centers but extended to the satellite towns. You can see the joy among the residents here,” he stated.

Wike acknowledged the role of the AMAC Chairman, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, for highlighting the urgent need for the projects.

“I commend the AMAC Chairman for bringing these roads to our attention. Without his advocacy, we might not have prioritized these areas this quickly,” he said.

The Minister also noted that the new road networks would drastically reduce travel time to the city to under ten minutes, attract residential developments, lower housing costs, and enhance economic activities in the region.

In a goodwill message, Wike wished FCT residents a Happy Easter and reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to deliver on its promises.

“As Mr. President always says, Nigerians must be united and work together for the collective good. By God’s grace, the promises we’ve made will be fulfilled,” he concluded.
