The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, has extended warm congratulations to Kwara United Football Club for their historic qualification to the final of the 2025 President Federation Cup.

In a statement released by his Media Aide, Mohammad Abdulkadri, Professor Sulaiman described the 1-0 semi-final triumph over Enugu Rangers—widely regarded as tournament favorites—as a testament to the Harmony Boys’ indomitable spirit, tactical discipline, and technical superiority.

He lauded the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazak for his visionary leadership and sustained investment in sports development in the state, which he described as a major catalyst for the club’s rising national profile.

Meanwhile, he also commended the club’s management, technical crew led by Coach Tunde Sanni, the players, and vibrant supporters’ club for their commitment and resilience.

Professor Sulaiman further urged the team to crown their effort by lifting the coveted President Federation Cup—an achievement that would end the 49-year wait since the near-success of the now-defunct Al-Yusuf Salami Football Club of Ilorin.

“This milestone reflects the outcome of strategic governance in Kwara State under Governor AbdulRazak, whose support for sports has become a model worthy of emulation across Nigeria,” the DG added.

He called on all stakeholders to continue supporting the team as they prepare for the historic final and emphasized the need for continuity in sports investments for sustainable development and youth engagement.
