An FCT High Court in Jabi, Abuja has granted bail to Innocent Bola Audu and Gamaliel Achor to the tune of fifty million naira each and landed property in Abuja, in a case of impersonation instituted against them by the Federal Government.

Fifty five year old Audu, a staff of the office of the Accountant General of the Federation alongside sixty four year old Achor were sued on a four count charge of impersonating the National President and Secretary General respectively of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN).

Audu is being prosecuted for violating a ruling of the National Industrial Court delivered on the 12th of August 2024 by Justice R.B. Haastrup which restrained him from parading himself as the National President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria.

Audu and Achor were also accused of attempting to commit theft by writing three false letters to the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) purportedly written on behalf of the ASCSN with the intent to divert the check off dues of the Association to their private account.

Count One of the Four Counts on the Charge sheet which was obtained by our Correspondent reads: “That you Innocent Bola Audu 55 years, a Civil Servant attached to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation Garki, Abuja and Gamaliel Achor 64 years from Umuahia Abia state on or sometimes in September, 2024 within the justification of this Honourable Court did conspire amongst yourselves to commit an offence to wit impersonation and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 96 and punishable under Section 97 of the Penal Code.”

In a hearing of the matter on Wednesday, both men were arraigned and granted bail by the Judge, it is however not known if they were able to meet their bail conditions.
