FCT Police strengthen anti-robbery operations across Abuja to curb ‘one-chance’ incidents.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a robust, intelligence-led security operation aimed at rooting out “one-chance” robberies and related criminal syndicates and safeguarding residents.

A statement issued by the Command announced plans to step up stop-and-search operations at identified flashpoints across the city.

These efforts specifically target criminal elements involved in “one-chance” attacks, vandalism, and the activities of scavengers who increasingly pose security risks.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operation will also address the misuse of diplomatic plate numbers by unauthorized individuals seeking to commit crimes or evade detection.

Residents have been strongly advised to avoid using vehicles with covered or missing number plates, or those displaying only one plate.

Similarly, motorists with tinted windows are reminded to carry valid permits, as failure to comply may result in thorough vehicle checks and delays.

The Police Command is urging members of the public to cooperate fully with officers on duty and remain law-abiding as these proactive measures are enforced in the interest of public safety.

“We understand that these operations may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize,” the statement reads. “However, the security and well-being of all FCT residents remain our top priority.”

The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and assured residents that it will continue to deploy all available resources to curb crime across the territory.
