Police Probe KWAM 1 Over Alleged Unruly Conduct at Abuja Airport

The Nigeria Police Force has opened an investigation into popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde-Marshal, widely known as KWAM 1, following a petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over alleged unruly conduct at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

According to the NCAA, the incident occurred on 5 August 2025 and allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023.

In a statement issued on Tuesday night, Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said:

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, unravel the circumstances that led to the ugly incident, and ensure justice is served accordingly.”

He added that the Force remains committed to maintaining safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector.

“We assure stakeholders in the aviation industry of improved collaboration towards enhancing aviation security and ensuring strict compliance with aviation laws,” Adejobi said.
