The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has expressed readiness to deepen collaboration with Christian tour operators, particularly in Ethiopia, to enhance pilgrimage experiences for Nigerian Christians.
Bishop Adegbite made this known on Monday, when he received the Chief Executive Officer of Simba Tours and Travel, Ethiopia, Mr. Woubeshet Alemayehu, at the NCPC headquarters in Abuja.
Highlighting Ethiopia’s rich Christian heritage, the NCPC boss noted that the East African nation is home to numerous historic churches and holy sites worthy of exploration. “I have personally visited Ethiopia and witnessed the depth of its Christian history. We are open to partnerships that will advance the cause of Christian pilgrimage,” he said.
Mr. Alemayehu stated that Simba Tours and Travel is prepared to serve as the official ground handler for Nigerian Christian pilgrim groups visiting Ethiopia. He revealed that the company works closely with its Nigerian partner, Obamark World Travels, to facilitate seamless pilgrimage tours.
According to him, both firms have previously organized familiarization trips for senior Nigerian Christian leaders and top delegations to renowned religious and historical locations such as Lalibela, Gondar, and Addis Ababa.
Mr. Alemayehu was accompanied on the courtesy visit by Mr. Solomon Nwachukwu, CEO of Obamark World Travels.
