The Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, has reaffirm the Commission’s readiness to strengthen partnerships with state governments in order to safeguard the welfare of pensioners across Nigeria.
She made this known while receiving the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman-Ododo, who paid her a courtesy visit at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement on Monday by the Commission, the PenCom DG commends Governor Ododo for his dedication to pensioners’ welfare and acknowledged his role in tackling pension-related challenges in Kogi State.
She notes that PenCom is committed to building a transparent and sustainable pension system that guarantees financial security for both workers and retirees.
“Our focus remains on ensuring that workers can retire with dignity and financial stability,” Oloworaran stated, stressing that collaboration with state governments is critical to achieving this vision.
Governor Ododo, in his remarks, congratulates Ms. Oloworaran on her appointment as Director-General, describing her as a proud daughter of Kogi State.
He reaffirmes his administration’s strong commitment to pensioners’ welfare, highlighting ongoing measures to clear outstanding liabilities and sustain gratuity payments.
The statement noted that the meeting ended with both leaders pledging to work together in advancing reforms that will strengthen pension administration and improve the livelihood of retirees nationwide.
