The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has commended stakeholders for their contributions toward the successful conclusion of the National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball League Phase 1, which took place in Abuja.

Reflecting on the progress of the sport in the country, Nimrod described the Phase 1 league as a testament to the resilience, unity, and collective determination of all parties involved in advancing volleyball in Nigeria. He acknowledged that the journey to building a sustainable volleyball culture may not always be smooth, but reaffirmed that the federation remains focused on achieving excellence.

“Our vision for volleyball excellence keeps us moving forward. We are on the verge of making history together, rising, learning, and growing as one community. The road may not always be easy, but our shared commitment will take us to our goal,” Nimrod stated.

The NVBF boss particularly expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff for partnering with the federation to co-sponsor the championship. He further extended gratitude to government agencies, state governments, security services, private clubs, and organizations for investing resources and ensuring their teams participated in the competition. According to him, their involvement demonstrates strong confidence in the federation’s leadership and its vision for the sport.

“The State Governments, Security Services, and Private Clubs that made sacrifices to send their teams to Abuja are all highly appreciated. Their actions show that we have institutions and individuals who genuinely believe in volleyball and its potential,” he said.

Looking ahead, Nimrod assured that the federation would address the gaps and challenges observed during Phase 1 to deliver a more rewarding and well-organized final phase of the league. He emphasized that the NVBF remains committed to providing a better atmosphere for players, coaches, and officials, while also ensuring that competitions maintain high standards.

“As we prepare for the Final Phase, we pray for the ability and resources to host all participating teams in an even more conducive environment. By God’s grace, the lessons and shortcomings from this phase will guide us toward a stronger, more impactful conclusion to the league,” Nimrod added.

He concluded by offering prayers for the safe return of all participants to their respective destinations, while expressing optimism that Nigerian volleyball will continue to grow and thrive with the support of all stakeholders.
