Edo Governor Okpebholo Nominates Five Commissioner-Designates

The Edo State Government has announced the nomination of five individuals as Commissioner-Designates by Governor Monday Okpebholo. The list was released on Thursday, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.

The nominees are:

1. Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae

2. Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi

3. Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen (JP)

4. Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo

5. Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN

According to the statement, the nominations will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative screening and confirmation.

Profiles of Nominees

Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae – A legal practitioner and member of the International Bar Association, Uwadiae holds a Law degree from Ambrose Alli University and an MBA. He previously served as Chairman of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission.

Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi –

A seasoned politician and administrator, Ogbeiwi holds a degree in Philosophy and Religion from Edo State University. A former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, he is also trained internationally in project monitoring, evaluation, and governance.

Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen (JP) – An administrator and politician, Idehen holds a degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin. He has served as a State Commissioner and Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government.

Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo –
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Amayaenvbo holds degrees in Political Science, Public Administration, and an MBA from the University of Benin. He has experience spanning both private and public service.

Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN
– A distinguished academic and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Professor Otaru holds law degrees from the University of Benin, University of Ife, and Babcock University. He is a Fellow of multiple professional institutes and an Honorary Member of the Body of Benchers.

The governor expressed confidence that the nominees possess the expertise and experience to contribute meaningfully to the administration’s developmental agenda, pending their confirmation by the House of Assembly.
