NDLEA operatives display seized cocaine and cannabis intercepted in Lagos operations.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arrested a 50-year-old widow in Lagos, for attempting to traffic cocaine while pretending to be pregnant.

The suspect, Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike, was picked up at a bus terminal in Jibowu, Yaba, while on her way to Abuja, with 1.3 kilograms of illicit drugs.

NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, in a statement says a search of her residence in Ago Palace Okota, Lagos, led to the recovery of 200 grams of a cutting agent used in the processing of a cocaine variant.

During interrogation, the widow, who runs a fashion business, confessed she inherited the drug trade from her late husband.

In another operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted 90 parcels of Loud, a strong strain of cannabis weighing over 48 kilograms.

The drugs seized on Tuesday, 19th August, were concealed in cartons of kitchen sinks and shipped from the United States before they were seized at a courier company in Lagos.
