Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has completed a high-profile move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain, sealing a contract that will keep her at the club until June 2027.

PSG announced the signing on Tuesday, describing the 25-year-old forward as a major addition to its attacking line. “Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who has joined the club on a deal that runs until 30th June 2027,” the club said in a statement.

Ajibade joins from Atlético de Madrid, where she scored eight goals and registered three assists in 25 appearances during the 2024–25 season. Her European career began in Norway with Avaldsnes IL before she made the switch to Spain in 2021.

The Lagos-born star, who first emerged from FC Robo Queens, has built an impressive profile on the international stage. She was crowned Nigeria’s NFF Young Player of the Year in 2018 and has since become a pivotal figure for the Super Falcons, leading them to Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumphs in 2018 and 2024.

She was also a standout performer at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics, cementing her reputation as one of Africa’s most influential players with over 30 international caps.

Reacting to the move, Ajibade said:“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”

With her arrival, Ajibade becomes one of the few Nigerian women to sign for a European powerhouse, a transfer that not only elevates her career but also underscores the growing influence of African women’s football on the global stage.
