The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity and patriotism, insisting that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration is already producing visible results.
Speaking at a news briefing in Abuja on Monday, ahead of Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary, Idris highlighted major reforms in agriculture, including the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development and the N1.5 trillion recapitalisation of the Bank of Agriculture.
“These are the largest agricultural financing initiatives in our history. For the first time, livestock has its own ministry, positioning Nigeria for global competitiveness. With N1.5 trillion injected into the Bank of Agriculture, farmers now have unprecedented access to funding. These are not promises they are realities,” he said.
Idris also praised Nigeria’s historic role in African unity and peacekeeping, recalling its support for independence movements and contributions to regional stability through ECOWAS and AU missions.
“At home and abroad, Nigeria has always stood as a symbol of unity and leadership. But the Nigeria of our dreams cannot be built by government alone. It must be built by all of us,” he stated.
The Minister urged citizens to remain hopeful and steadfast, stressing that the government’s reforms are beginning to yield results.
He reassured Nigerians of continued transparency and engagement through regular ministerial briefings after the independence celebrations.
“As we mark 65 years of nationhood, our unity remains our greatest strength. Together, we can make Nigeria greater than ever before,” Idris concluded
