Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has called on Nigerians to renew their hope and commitment to nation-building as the country marks 65 years of independence.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu acknowledged Nigeria’s challenges but expressed optimism that the country is steadily moving toward greatness.

He urged citizens to align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a framework that captures the collective aspirations of Nigerians for a nation where opportunities abound and citizens can thrive.

> “This milestone reminds us of the sacrifices of our forebears and the collective effort needed for nation-building. Let’s rekindle our hope, renew our commitment, and work tirelessly towards building a Nigeria that reflects the dreams of our founding fathers,” Kalu said.

The Deputy Speaker stressed the importance of unity, resilience, and diversity in driving national development. He assured that the National Assembly will continue to prioritize people-oriented legislation, while reaffirming his personal commitment to serving Nigerians.

Kalu congratulated President Tinubu and the Nigerian people on the independence celebration, praying for God’s guidance as the nation strives for a more prosperous future
