The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially opened its online application portal for the Airmen/Airwomen Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46/2025, calling on eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the free registration exercise and warning applicants against falling victim to fraudsters.
In an announcement shared via its official X handle (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the Force stated that the online registration begins on October 14 and closes on November 25, 2025.
“Interested and qualified Nigerians are to apply via the recruitment portal — nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng. Registration is completely free,” the statement read.
The NAF emphasized that applicants must print and duly complete the acknowledgment form, parent/guardian consent form, and local government area attestation form — all of which must be signed by recognized authorities.
The forms, according to the directive, must be endorsed by a military officer not below the rank of Wing Commander, or an equivalent in the Army or Navy, a Chief Superintendent of Police, a substantive local government chairman or secretary, or a magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.
Each attestation form must be accompanied by a passport photograph and photocopy of a valid ID card — such as a national ID, driver’s license, or international passport.
The statement reiterated that only Nigerian citizens are eligible to apply. Male applicants must not be shorter than 1.66 meters, while female applicants must not be shorter than 1.63 meters.
Applicants are required to be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, meeting the NAF’s recruitment standards.
For non-tradesmen/women, candidates must be between 18 and 22 years old, possess a minimum of five credits including Mathematics and English in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS, and present their secondary school testimonials.
For tradesmen/women, applicants must be aged 18 to 27, with at least a lower credit in ND/NCE from accredited institutions, in addition to five O’level credits.
Trades such as drivers require both a trade test certificate and a valid driver’s licence, while sportsmen and women are to provide proof of professional achievements, such as certificates or medals.
The NAF also stressed that any applicant previously convicted by a court of law will be automatically disqualified.
A zonal aptitude test for shortlisted candidates will be announced on the recruitment portal in due course.
“Applicants are advised to apply only through the official NAF portal and to disregard any unofficial links or individuals demanding payment. Recruitment into the Nigerian Air Force is completely free,” the Force added.
The NAF recruitment drive is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s air defense capacity and create new opportunities for disciplined and qualified young Nigerians to serve their nation.
