The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, earlier scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, citing “recent developments” within the party.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the party said the decision was taken by the National Working Committee (NWC) during an emergency meeting held on Monday, October 13, in accordance with Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).
“Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) may recall that the 103rd NEC meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, 15th October, 2025. However, in view of recent developments in the Party, the National Working Committee (NWC)… has approved the postponement of the 103rd NEC meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course,” Ologunagba stated.
He urged NEC members to “note the postponement and be guided accordingly.”
Although the statement did not specify the “recent developments,” party insiders say the decision comes amid mounting internal tensions and a growing wave of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The postponement also comes just weeks before the PDP’s elective National Convention, scheduled to hold in Ibadan from November 15 to 16, where new leadership is expected to emerge.
