The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has inaugurated a Strategic Inter-Agency Coordination Committee aimed at consolidating the gains of its ongoing stakeholder consultations and engagements, as part of efforts to reposition the Fund for greater efficiency and impact.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Oluwaseun Faleye, the Executive Director, Administration, Samaila Abdu, inaugurated the committee on Friday at the Fund’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.
Abdu explained that the committee’s core mandate is to “coordinate and advance the Managing Director’s transformative agenda through structured follow-ups on stakeholders’ visits and engagements.”
He noted that the inter-agency collaborations and stakeholder engagements form a central part of the NSITF’s broader strategy to promote the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS), expand the Fund’s reach, and strengthen institutional partnerships across sectors.
Designating the team as a standing committee, Abdu expressed optimism that it would play a key role in realizing the “bold and visionary goals set by the Managing Director upon assumption of office.”
He said members were selected based on their “outstanding reputation, professional competence, dedication to duty, and high ethical standards,” expressing confidence in their ability to deliver on the assignment.
The Strategic Inter-Agency Coordination Committee, chaired by Abdul-Lateef Musa, General Manager (Compliance), comprises eight other members: Dr. Dayo Alao (Technical Adviser to the MD/CE), Frances Nwachukwu, Olakunle Olasaru, Dr. Augusta Ehigalua, Dr. Emmanuel Ulayi, Dorothy Igbole, Blessing Ogechi, and Baba Hussain Bala.
According to the Executive Director, the committee’s terms of reference include:
Documenting outcomes and decisions from all inter-agency engagements;
Developing action plans with clear timelines and responsibilities;
Liaising with partner organizations to sustain momentum and track progress;
Monitoring implementation and evaluating challenges for Executive Management;
Providing periodic progress reports to the MD/CE; and
Assessing the impact of engagements and recommending improvements.
In his remarks, the committee chairman, Abdul-Lateef Musa, thanked the NSITF management for the opportunity to serve, assuring that the team would justify the confidence reposed in them.
“We appreciate the trust placed in us, and we assure management that the committee will deliver on its mandate. Every member is committed to advancing the growth and visibility of the Fund,” Musa stated.
