In a boost to youth empowerment and food security, over 350 young men and women from Bauchi State have graduated from the 2025 Innovative and Integrated Agricultural Value Chains Agribusiness Training held at CSS Global Integrated Farms, Gora, in Nasarawa State.

The intensive two-week training, organized in collaboration with the Bauchi State Government, focused on equipping participants with practical, modern agricultural skills to transform farming into a profitable and sustainable business venture.

Representing the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Iliyas Aliyu-Gital, praised the management of CSS Global Integrated Farms led by Professor John Kennedy Opara for delivering a transformative training programme.

“The training is designed to provide young people with opportunities to learn from experienced leaders through practical sessions and mentorship in modern farming,” Governor Mohammed said. “I charge you to embrace agriculture not just as a means of survival but as a noble profession capable of reducing poverty, improving food security, and creating wealth.”

In an inspiring lecture titled “The Power of Vision,” Professor Opara urged the graduates to pursue their dreams with focus and purpose. “Unless one understands what he is created to achieve, his time on earth will be wasted,” he said. “There is no better way to prepare the youth—our leaders of tomorrow—than to equip them with the right knowledge and skills.”

Throughout the training, participants acquired hands-on experience in grains production, poultry, aquaculture, food processing, packaging, and branding—key areas identified as vital to strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.

The colourful graduation ceremony featured special awards presented to Professor Opara and Governor Bala Mohammed in recognition of their exemplary leadership and contributions to youth development and agribusiness growth. Some outstanding trainees also received monetary rewards and gift items for their exceptional performance during the programme.

Expressing their gratitude, the participants thanked the Bauchi State Government for investing in their future and providing a platform to turn their passion for agriculture into viable enterprises.

The initiative, according to organisers, is part of ongoing efforts to empower young Nigerians with practical skills that promote self-reliance, job creation, and economic diversification through agribusiness.
