The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has been declared winner of the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election, after securing a sweeping victory across all 21 local government areas of the state.

The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Edoba Omoregie, announced the results at the state collation centre in Awka, the state capital on Sunday, declaring Soludo duly elected.

Soludo polled a total of 422,664 votes, leaving his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), far behind with 99,445 votes. Sir Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.

According to INEC, 16 candidates from various political parties contested the election. Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, 598,229 were accredited. The total valid votes stood at 584,054, while 11,244 votes were rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 595,298.

Announcing the final figures, Prof. Omoregie said:

He added that although incidents in a few areas led to the cancellation of 10,481 votes in parts of Anambra West, Anaocha, Awka South, and Onitsha South LGAs, the margin of lead was wide enough to confirm Soludo’s victory.
