The operations, conducted by the Force Special Tactical Squad (STS), also recovered firearms, vehicles, motorcycles, and illicit substances.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects face multiple charges including economic sabotage, cattle rustling, impersonation, and violent crimes.

Hundeyin revealed that six firearms, including AK-47, AK-49, SMG, a LAR rifle, and a pump-action gun, along with two live rounds of ammunition, were recovered.

Other exhibits include 45 motorcycles, vehicles, and controlled substances.

He said the operations included an interception along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway of a vehicle carrying 13 motorcycles and weapons.

A Kuje Custodial Centre escapee was apprehended in the FCT for allegedly robbing a Nigerian Army officer, while another suspect impersonating a police officer was arrested with a stolen tricycle and police paraphernalia.

Hundeyin confirmed that, further arrests were also  made in Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Nasarawa, and neighbouring states, targeting violent criminals as well as banditry networks.

The Force PRO assured that investigations are ongoing, and suspects will be charged in court.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun commended the operatives’ professionalism and urged the public to continue providing credible intelligence to support security efforts.
