President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break, ahead of an official engagement in the United Arab Emirates.
According to a statement issued by Presidential Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President will proceed from Europe to Abu Dhabi to attend the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit, scheduled to hold early in January.
According to the statement, President Tinubu was invited to the summit by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The weeklong event brings together global leaders from government, business and civil society to advance discussions and actions on sustainable development.
The 2026 summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” will focus on linking ambition with practical action across innovation, finance and human development, while showcasing pathways for global progress.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
