Housing Ministry to Hold Stakeholders’ Meeting in Ilorin

The National Council on Lands, Housing and Urban Development has been described as a critical platform for aligning federal and state policies and advancing reforms in the housing and urban development sector.

This is according to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, ahead of the councils forum in Kwara state.

Belgore said the Council meeting provides an opportunity to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration, review sectoral policies, and develop practical solutions to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing and sustainable urban development nationwide.

The meeting is themed “Achieving Housing Delivery and Sustainable Cities Through Effective Land Management, Urban Renewal, Promotion of Local Building Materials, and Public-Private Partnership in Nigeria.”

According to Belgore, the 14th meeting of the National Council scheduo3d for January 19the will bring together key stakeholders in the built environment sector, including state commissioners, permanent secretaries, directors, and other professionals, to deliberate on policy and regulatory issues affecting housing and urban development.

He said discussions will focus on effective land management, housing delivery, urban renewal, and public-private partnerships as critical drivers of sustainable cities.

The meeting is being hosted by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, with the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, serving as the Special Guest of Honour.
