The Nigeria Volleyball Reporters Association (NVRA) has extended warm birthday wishes to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, CGC Adewale Adeniyi. commending his exceptional commitment to the growth and development of volleyball in Nigeria.
In a goodwill message personally signed by NVRA Chairman, Ganiyu Oloyede, the association praised Adeniyi’s unwavering support and strategic investments that have significantly elevated the profile of the sport nationwide.
Oloyede highlighted the, CGC’s landmark sponsorship of the 2024 and 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier Leagues, describing the initiative as a game-changer that transformed Nigeria’s volleyball landscape and paved the way for a historic partnership between the Nigeria Customs Service and the sport’s governing structures.
He further lauded Adeniyi’s sponsorship of the 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship, which received widespread acclaim as one of the best-organised editions in recent years.
Beyond elite competitions, NVRA also acknowledged the CGC’s contribution to grassroots development, noting the distribution of volleyball equipment — including balls, nets and antennas to 24 Premier League clubs across the country, a move credited with strengthening youth development and talent discovery at state levels.
The association described Adeniyi as a visionary leader whose passion for sports development continues to inspire growth, opportunity and excellence within Nigerian volleyball.
NVRA concluded by wishing the Customs boss good health, greater achievements and continued success in both national service and his enduring mission to advance the future of volleyball in Nigeria.
