CNS Spikers were pushed to the limit before securing a dramatic 3–2 victory over Nigeria Correctional Service in one of the tournament’s most captivating matches.
The Spikers set the tone early, claiming the opening set 25–18 and outlasting their opponents in a marathon second set 36–34.
Nigeria Correctional Service mounted an impressive response, taking the third and fourth sets 25–22, 25–22 to level the contest and force a decisive fifth set.
However, CNS Spikers showed superior composure when it mattered most, pulling away to win the tie-break 15–8 and sealing a statement victory.
Defence Spikers also made their presence felt with a confident 3–1 triumph over Life Camp. Defence controlled the early exchanges, winning the first two sets 25–19 and 25–21.
Life Camp threatened a comeback after capturing the third set 25–21, but Defence quickly regrouped and dominated the fourth set 25–16 to wrap up a solid performance.
In the women’s event, Nigeria Customs Service showcased resilience and championship mentality to edge COAS Spikers 3–2 in another electrifying showdown.
After conceding the first set 21–25, Customs found their rhythm, powering to 25–19 and 25–15 wins in the next two sets.
COAS Spikers refused to surrender, battling to a narrow 25–23 victory in the fourth set to force a decider. Yet Customs held their nerve in the final set, cruising to a 15–9 win to complete a remarkable comeback.
Meanwhile, Vipers Spikers produced one of the most dominant displays of Day 3, sweeping past Excelsior VC in straight sets.
The Vipers overwhelmed their opponents 25–12 in the opener before maintaining control in the next two sets, 25–23, 25–23, underlining their credentials as strong contenders.
