The Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, has congratulated the newly turbaned District Head of Ballah, Kolapo Abdulkadir.
In a statement issued on Friday, by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri, he described the event as a landmark moment for the Ilorin Emirate.
Prof. Sulaiman said the colourful ceremony brought together distinguished sons and daughters of the Emirate and reaffirmed the enduring strength of its traditional institutions.
He urged Abdulkadir to uphold the “sterling legacies” of his late father, the 10th Emir of Ilorin, Abdulkadir Aliyu Baba Agba, as he administers the Ballah/Owode communities, noting that leadership rooted in integrity and service remains vital to community development.
The NILDS boss expressed appreciation to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu‑Gambari, for the successful conduct of the turbaning ceremony, which he said further strengthened unity, loyalty, and cohesion within the Shehu Alimi dynasty.
The former Minister of National Planning prayed for a long, peaceful, and impactful reign for the new Daudu of Ballah, urging him to consolidate peace and foster progress, prosperity, and security across communities under his domain in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.
