The Federal Capital Territory Administration says the completed Apo-Karshi Road will be handed over to residents by November, while the Bwari-Kubwa Road is expected to be completed by December.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike disclosed the timelines while inspecting the two projects on Thursday in Abuja.
The Apo-Karshi Road was initially awarded several years ago before its contract was revoked and later re-awarded to SCC.
Wike said SCC had committed to completing the Bwari-Kubwa Road by December, expressing satisfaction with the progress of both projects.
The minister also linked the infrastructure development across Abuja and its satellite towns to the performance of the Tinubu administration.
He said the response of residents during his inspection showed that people were noticing the impact of the projects and other ongoing developments in the FCT.
Wike said such visible infrastructure could influence residents’ assessment of the government ahead of the 2027 elections.
He expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would win the presidential election in the FCT in 2027, while also backing former FCT Senator Philip Aduda and Gabaya in their respective contests.
The minister also criticised the representation of the FCT in the Senate, in an apparent response to comments by incumbent Senator Ireti Kingibe that he could not determine her political future.
Wike questioned Kingibe’s engagement with residents of the satellite communities and her record of raising issues affecting FCT residents at the National Assembly.
He maintained that his criticism was about effective representation and not intimidation, saying the 2027 elections would give FCT residents the opportunity to decide who represents them.
