Senate Ad – Hoc Committee Begins Investigation Into Alleged Economic Sabotage In The Petroleum Industry.

Barring any last minute changes Senate Ad – hoc Committee investigating alleged Economic Sabotage in the Petroleum Industry will today have an interactive session with Stakeholders in the sector.

The 15 man committee headed by Senate leader, Bamidele had in its maiden press conference assured Nigerians that it would leave no stone unturned in unraveling the problems in the nation’s petroleum sector.

Senator Bamidele said the committee is not out to witch-hunt any individual but to ensure transparency in the investigation before submitting a report to the senate which is expected to resume on the 17th of September.

He said the terms of reference will see them invite relevant stakeholders to answer questions regarding the shortcomings in the petroleum sector.

Senator Opeyeni had warned that any entity that fails to show up during the investigation may be compelled to do so through a warrant of arrest by the Inspector General of Police.

Some of the entities expected to be at today’s interactive  session include the Minister of State (Petroleum) Ministries of Finance and Trade, the NNPCL, CBN, NIMASA, Customs, Navy, Dangote Oil, Obat Oil, amongst others.
