Foundation Launches AI, Robotics to equip students with Tech skills

Quearex Tech Empowerment Foundation, with the support of Orixine Consulting and other partners, has launched a dynamic two-day robotics and AI coding event for young minds.
The event held at Government Senior Secondary School in Kubwa, Abuja, aims to equip Nigerian students with crucial skills to thrive in today’s tech-driven world.
A statement by Sunday Agbo, Director General of Quearex Tech Empowerment Foundation, says, the initiative provides students with hands-on experience in coding and artificial intelligence (AI), promoting creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. With a focus on foundational skills in AI and robotics, the program aims to empower students to navigate and contribute to the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
He stated, “Our goal is to inspire a new generation of Nigerian students to think critically and creatively about technology, by equipping them with foundational knowledge in AI and robotics, we hope to ignite a lifelong passion for learning and introduce them to exciting career possibilities in tech. We are committed to providing the guidance and support these young minds need to address real-world challenges,” he noted.
Barr. Audu Arome, Executive Director of Orixine Consulting, emphasized the value of collaboration for sustainable tech education. “Orixine Consulting is proud to support Quearex Tech Empowerment Foundation in this transformative event,” he stated. “Initiatives like these are crucial to helping young people gain the skills they need in today’s competitive landscape. This initiative aligns with a recent Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) directive to integrate robotics and AI into the basic education curriculum, recognizing AI as a tool to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program emphasizes that emerging technologies hold substantial potential for reducing inequality and supporting economic growth across Nigeria.
Together, Quearex Tech Empowerment Foundation and Orixine Consulting, with support from additional partners, aim to deepen students’ and educators’ understanding of AI and robotics through events like this. These experiences empower Nigerian youth to apply technology creatively and practically, preparing them for a globally interconnected workforce and a variety of future career opportunities.
