By Sofiat Adenekan-Abdul

FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has praised the Tinubu’s administration for what he described as a significant transformation of the Federal Capital Territory, driven by major infrastructure projects marking Abuja’s 50th anniversary.

Speaking after inspecting the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), Ring Road I bridge, the Gishiri road network and the Apo–Wassa corridor, Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work.

He said the Gishiri road network is slated for inauguration within the administration’s third year, while projects in the Apo–Wassa axis—intended to serve Apo traders—are targeted for completion by August 2026.

The OSEX works are also expected to be delivered during the administration’s third-year anniversary.

Wike stressed that the current development drive goes beyond jubilee celebrations, noting that Abuja’s landscape has been reshaped over the past three years under President Bola Tinubu, with all projects executed in line with the Abuja Master Plan.

On the recent industrial action by the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC), Wike dismissed concerns that the strike slowed development, saying union leaders now have a clearer understanding of ongoing projects after on-site visits.

He added that conditions are now suitable for staff to resume duties.
