The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has felicitated with Vice President Kashim Shettima on his birthday, describing him as an accomplished public servant and steadfast patriot who has dedicated his life to the service of Nigeria.
In a statement issue to mark the occasion, Akpabio traced Shettima’s public service journey from his days as a Commissioner in Borno State through his tenure as Governor, then Senator, and now Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, noting that each stage had been marked by courage, intellectual depth and unwavering loyalty to the country.
The Senate President highlighted Shettima’s leadership as Governor of Borno State during one of its most turbulent periods, when insurgency threatened the state’s stability.
He commends the Vice President for remaining at his post and providing steady leadership in the face of danger, describing it as proof that adversity should never extinguish hope.
Akpabio also praise the working relationship between Shettima and President Bola Tinubu, saying their partnership in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda reflects the unity of purpose needed at the highest levels of government to tackle the nation’s challenges and build a stronger future.
“On this special day, I celebrate not merely the addition of another year to your life, but the years you have invested in the service of our fatherland,” Akpabio said.
Speaking on behalf of his family, his constituents and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Senate President wished the Vice President continued good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment, praying for divine guidance as he continues to serve the nation.
Akpabio rounded off his message with prayers for a united and prosperous Nigeria, expressing hope for a country at peace with itself, confident in its diversity, and respected among nations.
