The President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), Dr. Uyi Akpata, is representing Nigeria at the Conference for Africa Cricket Board Members, a high-level forum bringing together leading cricket administrators from across the continent.

The conference, hosted by Cricket Namibia in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC), is holding alongside the ongoing ICC U19 World Cup and features presidents and senior executives of African cricket boards, as well as the ICC Chairman and other key global stakeholders.

Discussions at the forum are focused on strengthening governance structures, expanding international collaboration, and accelerating the growth and development of cricket across Africa.

Key items on the agenda include youth development initiatives, grassroots expansion, and high-performance programmes aimed at improving competitive standards and creating sustainable talent pathways throughout the continent.

Participants are also exchanging best practices in administration, funding models, facility development, and tournament organisation, with the shared goal of building stronger and more resilient cricket ecosystems in their respective countries.

Dr Akpata’s participation highlights Nigeria’s commitment to aligning with continental and global cricket development frameworks, while positioning the Nigeria Cricket Federation as an active contributor to Africa’s collective vision for the future of the sport.

The engagement is part of a broader ICC-supported effort to deepen collaboration among African member boards and leverage the momentum of the U19 World Cup to inspire the next generation of cricketers across the region.
