The Anambra Beach Soccer Association (ABSA) has confirmed that all arrangements have been finalized for the hosting of the second round of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL), scheduled to take place in Nnewi from August 21 to 23.
Okwudili Awam, Director of Media for ABSA, disclosed this in Awka on Monday, noting that the matches will be staged at the Beach Soccer Stadium within the Nnewi High School premises. He assured stakeholders that Anambra State is fully prepared to deliver a successful event.
According to Awam, eight teams will compete in the round, including Kebbi Fishers, Ibom, Nmako Patigi, Kada, Kebbi United, Jigawa Golden Stars, Niger, and the host team, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors. The clubs will be drawn into two groups as they continue their quest for points in the ongoing league season.
“We are delighted to announce that Anambra State will host the second round of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League, commencing on August 21. Preparation is in top gear, and I can assure fans, players, and officials that we are ready,” Awam said. “Having hosted successfully in 2024, we are committed to making this year’s event bigger and better.”
He added that the association is opening its doors to partnerships with corporate organisations to support the competition while appealing to the media to give the tournament robust coverage. Awam further encouraged members of the public to troop out in large numbers to witness the excitement of beach soccer in Nnewi.
The 2025 NBSL promises thrilling action as some of the country’s top beach soccer clubs battle for supremacy, with Anambra once again positioning itself as a hub for sports development and entertainment.
