Nigeria international and Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala has signed a two-year contract with Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al Hilal, ESPN reports. The deal was finalized on Monday following a successful medical in Riyadh.
Oshoala, 30, was notably absent from Bay FC’s squad against Angel City, where she was listed as excused on the club’s availability report—fueling speculation ahead of confirmation of her transfer. The six-time African Women’s Player of the Year departs Bay FC after one season in the NWSL, where she registered seven goals and one assist in 25 appearances during the 2024 campaign. However, her impact diminished this year, making only 12 appearances with no goal contributions.
The Super Falcons striker also saw a reduced role during Nigeria’s triumphant run at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, featuring in four matches but starting just two. Despite this, Oshoala remains one of Africa’s most decorated footballers, having won five league titles and two UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies during a prolific five-year spell at Barcelona, where she scored 107 goals in 149 appearances. She has also represented Arsenal, Liverpool, Dalian Quanjian, and Nigerian clubs Robo and Rivers Angels.
At Al Hilal, Oshoala links up with compatriots Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega at the Riyadh-based side, which finished sixth in the expanded 2024–25 Saudi Women’s Premier League season.
