The draws for the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships were conducted on Thursday, confirming the group-stage opponents for the 48 best men’s and women’s teams in the world.

The tournament, set for November 14–23 in Adelaide, Australia, will be the largest ever held in the Southern Hemisphere.

Africa will be represented by six nations—Nigeria, Egypt, Mozambique, Togo, Morocco, and Benin—as the continent looks to make a mark on the global stage.

In the female category, Nigeria’s duo Pamela and Esther were drawn in Group C alongside Nuss/Brasher (USA), Van Driel/Bekhuis (Netherlands), and Vitoria/Hegele (Germany) — a tough but competitive pool.

Egypt’s Marwa/Nada in Group B will face Brazil, Ukraine, and Netherlands.

Mahassine/Dina in Group J against Canada, France, and Netherlands.

Mozambique’s Vanessa/Mucheza face a steep challenge in Group D versus USA, Germany, and France.

Togo’s historic duo Kotoka/Samani will debut in Group H against Czech Republic, Latvia, and USA.
Benin’s Yacoubou/Tohouenon are in Group F with Cuba, Portugal, and hosts Australia, while Morocco’s Ilyas/El Gharouti compete in Group L against Australia, France, and Chile.

Despite tough draws, the African teams’ participation underlines the continent’s growing investment and progress in beach volleyball.

With 216 matches set over ten thrilling days in Adelaide, the stage is set for Africa to challenge the world’s best and gain valuable experience ahead of future Olympic qualifiers.
