The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has dismissed reports suggesting that it has called off its planned protest against rising insecurity across the country.

labour clarified that its meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday night did not lead to any decision to suspend the protest scheduled for today.

Speaking to journalists at the NLC headquarters in Abuja ahead of the demonstration, the President of the Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero, said the leadership used the meeting to reiterate its long-standing concerns over insecurity.

He noted that the Congress had written several letters to the Presidency on the matter but received no concrete response.

According to him, the failure to adequately address these concerns informed the decision to proceed with the protest.
