The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has introduced new welfare initiatives for its workforce, including housing, healthcare and vehicle support, as the Commission marks its 35th anniversary.
Registrar-General, Hussaini Ishaq-Magaji, announced the schemes on Saturday during the Commission’s monthly fitness exercise in Abuja, held as part of the anniversary activities.

He said the measures are aimed at strengthening staff welfare, improving morale and enhancing service delivery.
According to him, CAC has rolled out a special housing loan and a vehicle loan scheme for employees, stressing that management remains committed to staff development and productivity.
He noted that the Commission currently has no outstanding claims and continues to support career progression across all levels.

CAC Plans Staff Health Facility
The Registrar-General also disclosed plans to establish a CAC-managed health facility to serve both serving and retired staff.
The facility, expected to take off this year, is designed to improve access to healthcare and reduce out-of-pocket medical costs for workers.
From Manual to Fully Digital Registry

Reflecting on CAC’s evolution since its establishment in 1991, Ishaq-Magaji said the Commission has transformed from manual operations into Nigeria’s first fully digital, end-to-end corporate registry, offering services 24/7.
He affirm that CAC now serves millions of Nigerians and businesses globally, compared to its early years when operations were limited to a single office in Abuja.
400,000 Dormant Companies Delisted
The Registrar-General revealed that in 2025, the Commission delisted over 400,000 dormant companies that failed to file annual returns.

He described the firms as shell entities that posed risks to the business environment.
According to him, the move, was necessary to strengthen the credibility of Nigeria’s corporate register and boost investor confidence.
Beneficial Ownership Register
CAC also highlighted the full operationalisation of its Beneficial Ownership Register, which enables users to identify individuals behind registered companies in Nigeria.
The register, promotes transparency, accountability and compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
MSME Support Drive

As part of its support for small businesses, CAC said it is partnering with SMIDA to register 250,000 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Commission also provided 250 free business registrations to small enterprises in 2025.
Focus on Service Delivery
The Registrar-General urged staff to remain committed to the Commission’s mandate, noting that the new welfare initiatives are designed to strengthen the workforce and sustain efficient service delivery.
