Nigerian culinary sensation Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has dismissed circulating claims that she plans to cook the world’s largest pot of beans, clarifying that no such project is in progress.
In a video shared online, Chef Dammy urged Nigerians to be cautious of unverified information. “I am not cooking the biggest pot of beans,” she stated, describing the rumours as an example of how misinformation spreads rapidly across social media platforms.
The speculation gained momentum earlier this week, following reports that Chef Dammy was preparing a record-breaking culinary feat, shortly after Hilda Baci made global headlines on September 12, 2025, for cooking the largest pot of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
Chef Dammy, who rose to prominence in 2023 after completing a 120-hour cook-a-thon in Ekiti State, acknowledged that such stunts naturally attract public attention.
“While I remain passionate about my culinary journey, I am currently not engaged in any Guinness World Record attempt or cooking challenge of this nature,” she clarified.
In the same video, Chef Dammy congratulated Hilda Baci on her achievement, praising her dedication and resilience in putting Nigerian cuisine on the global map. The gesture has been widely commended online as an example of support and solidarity among young Nigerian creatives.
