The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and the National Single Window (NSW) Secretariat have reaffirmed their commitment to fast-tracking the take-off of the Nigerian National Single Window Project, set for launch in the first quarter of 2026.

At a high-level meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi (MFR), hosted FIRS Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, and NSW Project Director, Tola Fakolade, to review progress and fine-tune final integration steps.

The National Single Window, unveiled by President Bola Tinubu in April 2024, will serve as a unified digital portal linking all trade-related government agencies.

It aims to slash bureaucratic delays, cut cargo clearance times, reduce operating costs, and strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness in global trade.

According to a statement on Wednesday by Customs spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada, Adeniyi in describing it as a “transformational initiative,” stressed that the platform’s success hinges on seamless inter-agency collaboration.

“This is not just about technology; it’s about creating a modern trade ecosystem where government agencies work as one to serve the trading community with efficiency, transparency, and speed,” he said.

For the Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, he assured that FIRS would fully support the project to drive improved compliance, revenue growth, and ease of doing business.

Also, the NSW Project Director, Tola Fakolade urged all agencies to meet their integration deadlines to ensure the Q1 2026 target remains on track.
