The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) Professor Abubakar Sulaiman has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid Ul-Mawlid.

Recall that the federal government had declared Monday 16th September, public holiday to mark the Mawlid which is in celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Professor Sulaiman in a statement by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri described Prophet Muhammad as a perfect example for humanity who bequeathed legacies of piety, patience, peace and perseverance which underscores the very essence of celebrating his birthday.

The Director General NILDS who Identified Prophet Muhammad as an embodiment of virtues enjoined Nigerians to embrace peaceful co-existence, good neighbourliness, religious tolerance and to promote societal peace towards ending terrorism, banditry and other challenges associated with insecurity bedeviling the country.

He emphasised the need to embrace the good character of Prophet Muhammad such as generosity, simplicity and humility as guides to all believers towards correcting the ills in the society.

Towards building a virile society, he said Nigerians need to imbibe the culture of selfless service, patriotism and to shun vices capable of undermining national integrity.

While urging muslims to be good ambassadors of Islam in all their undertakings the NILDS boss called on them to pray for the country at all times.
