The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the November 8, 2025 Anambra election, Jude Ezenwafor, has described his emergence as “rancor-free and divine,” pledging to chart a new path of prosperity for the state.

Ezenwafor made the remarks in Abuja on Tuesday, while receiving members of the League of Anambra Journalists (LAJA) who paid him a solidarity visit days after he was attacked by unknown gunmen in the nation’s capital.

According to the PDP candidate, his ambition is not driven by desperation but by a sincere desire to reposition Anambra for greater development.

“My contest is not disruptive; it’s divine. I’m not desperate to become governor. My only desperation is for our state to be in order. We sincerely need to salvage Anambra. It belongs to all of us,” he said.

Outlining his vision, Ezenwafor promised to make Anambra a destination for massive economic growth, wealth creation, and infrastructural development.

“Part of my vision is to make many people millionaires within a short time. This is not a mere political campaign. We are ready to capture Anambra and deliver dividends of democracy,” he assured.

Earlier, LAJA Interim President, Ambassador Ikenna Okonkwo of Blueprint Newspapers, said Anambra is in dire need of a leader who can relaunch the state as a hub for health, technology, education, and infrastructure in Nigeria and Africa.

Interim Secretary-General, Princess Ekwi Ajide of Anambra Broadcasting Service, alongside veteran journalist Onyebuchi Ezigbo of ThisDay, prayed for Ezenwafor’s speedy recovery and revealed plans for a governorship debate to engage all candidates ahead of the polls.
