The Federal Government has assured parents and students of heightened security as all Federal Unity Colleges resume academic activities nationwide on Monday, September 14, 2026.
Federal Ministry of Education said it had notified relevant security agencies ahead of the resumption, to step up vigilance around the colleges and their immediate environments.
The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, said the safety and wellbeing of students and staff remained a top priority for the government.
In a statement issued on Friday, the ministry says measures had been put in place to ensure a safe and smooth start to the new academic session.
Alausa urged parents and guardians to remain calm, rely on official information and prepare their children for resumption.
The minister also called on students, parents, teachers and school administrators to work together to maintain a peaceful and secure learning environment.
He assured that the ministry would continue to monitor developments and take necessary measures to safeguard students and staff across the colleges.
