The Federal Government’s commitment to sustainable road infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda has drawn commendation from key stakeholders in the road sector, following the inspection of ongoing projects in Kaduna State.
The commendations came during a National Media Tour and project commissioning, where stakeholders assessed the quality of federal road works across the state. Projects inspected included the repairs of Taban Sani Road, Sabo Rail Bridge to Command Junction Road, and roads within the Mahuta Army Post-Service Housing Scheme.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, North West Zone, Hon. Abdullahi Yakasai, assured Nigerians that the roads are being constructed to approve engineering standards to guarantee durability and long-term value.
He said the projects reflect the administration’s resolve to deliver infrastructure that will stand the test of time.
The Federal Government is also deploying modern construction technologies such as Continuous Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) to enhance road lifespan and reduce maintenance costs.
The Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway is among major highways being rehabilitated using the technology to improve safety and lower vehicle operating costs.
Professional bodies, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), praised the Federal Ministry of Works and contractors for professionalism and adherence to quality standards.
The projects form part of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s infrastructure drive aimed at delivering safe, durable and economically impactful roads nationwide.
Several projects, including the Zaria–Funtua–Gusau–Sokoto Road and the Mararraba–Pambeguwa Road, are nearing completion, reinforcing government’s confidence that improved road infrastructure will support economic growth and national development.
