As the second phase of the TDS Talent Development Scheme wrapped up, the team captain, Bassey Favour who also plays for sensational Academy, shared his reflections on what he described as an inspiring and enriching journey.

“I’m grateful, first of all, to be their captain,” he said. “It was a good one. The players acted right. We had a great game. We won four matches and drew one, so it was good overall.”
Bassey highlighted the positive impact the camp had on his personal development and the growth of his teammates. According to him, the coaching staff introduced techniques and tactical insights that went far beyond what they were used to at their local teams.

“My game has improved because the coaches taught us more than what we’re used to in our teams,” he explained. “We saw different patterns of play, cone work, and a unique style of training. It was really helpful to us as grassroots players.”
Looking ahead, Bassey expressed a strong desire to continue participating in the initiative, emphasizing the value it adds to aspiring footballers. “Yeah, I want to be part of it again,” he said, reflecting the enthusiasm shared by many of the young talents at the camp.

His testimony underscores the role of the TDS scheme not only in talent identification but in equipping young players with the discipline, techniques, and exposure needed to thrive at higher levels of the game.
