FIRST LADY, SEN. REMI TINUBU CALLS FOR THE INCLUSION OF MORE WOMEN INTO ARCHITECTURE IN AFRICA

Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for the inclusion and participation of more women in the security architecture of countries across Africa. She reiterated that security is the bedrock for development hence the need to tackle the multi-faceted challenges facing individual countries and the Africa region.

Senator Tinubu who spoke in Abuja on Tuesday during the Africa region training conference organized by the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) were she was represented by the wife of the minister of Works, Rachael Umahi, charged the 520 female delegates across 18 countries to work more for inclusivity.

The 2nd vice president of International Association of Women Police, Leah Shibambo who represented the president of the association, said the conference hopes to create a pillar of peace in the continent through networking, sharing experience and empowering female law
enforcement officers across the continent.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting Gender Equality in the Nigeria Police Force, saying he looks forward to the recommendations from the conference.

Correspondent Oluwakemi Kindness reports that high point of the Conference was the Launch of the Nigeria Police Force Gender Policy Document.
