The 2025 Her Game Women’s Football Tournament has produced its two finalists, with defending champions Fosla Academy and the resilient Horvel Angels securing victories in Thursday’s semi-finals at the Area 3 Pitch, Abuja.
The tournament continues to spotlight the growing depth of women’s football in Nigeria, providing young players with crucial exposure and competitive opportunities.

Horvel Angels 2–0 Generation Next
Horvel Angels advanced with a confident 2–0 win over Generation Next.
Odide Lilian proved decisive, scoring in the 47th and 55th minutes.
Her sharp finishing and high work rate stood out in a tightly contested game that highlighted the tournament’s rising technical standards.
Fosla Academy 1–0 SIK Paragon
Fosla Academy kept their title defence on track with a narrow 1–0 victory over SIK Paragon.
Forward Habila Patricia scored the only goal in the 44th minute, ensuring Fosla’s second consecutive appearance in the final.
Fosla’s organisation and defensive awareness were key, with the champions absorbing pressure from Paragon while maintaining their structure.
Patricia said she was overwhelmed with joy after scoring the match winner.
“I didn’t expect to score today. The game was very tough, but I did my best and God helped me, from the first match to now, it has not been easy.” she said.
Looking ahead to the final against Horvel Angels, she expressed confidence.
“It’s victory. I’m very sure we are going to win by the grace of God.”
Head coach Christopher Igbuku praised his team’s discipline and steady improvement.
“We take each game as it comes. After every match, we talk to the girls and step our game up. That’s how we got to the final.”
He applauded defender Queen Joseph, formerly of Nigeria’s U17 team for her strong performance.
“She covered the defence excellently and played the ball out well. One of her passes led to our goal.”
Coach Igbuku also acknowledged the strength of their opponents.
“SIK Paragon are a very good side. If not for God and one mistake, the game could have gone differently.”
With the final set for Saturday, 6 December 2025, he kept his expectations measured.
“I won’t say much… let the final come.”
The tournament will conclude with the third-place match and the grand finale at the Area 3 Pitch.
Fosla Academy aim to retain their crown, while Horvel Angels chase their first title in what promises to be a highly competitive finish.
