INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION (INEC) ACCREDITES ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR GROUPS TO SERVE AS OBSERVERS IN THE UPCOMING GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS IN EDO AND ONDO STATES.

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accredited One Hundred and Thirty Four  Groups to serve as Observers in the upcoming Governorship Elections in Edo and Ondo States scheduled for September and November 2024 respectively.

 Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mr. Sam Olumekun, made this known in a statement issued on Monday, 15th July 2024.

He disclosed that a total of 134 Observer Groups out of 153 applications received from interested Organizations by the Commission were accredited for the Elections after meeting the requirements for the accreditation.

The IVEC Chairman added that out of the 134 Observer Groups accredited, 124 are domestic organisations while the Commission also approved 10 foreign Observer Groups.

The IVEC Chairman advised accredited Observer Groups to upload personal details and photographs of their field observers to the Commission’s dedicated portal.
