INTERNAL SECURITY: IGP charges NPF-SIS operatives to focus on professionalism in carrying out their duties

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu-Egbetokun, on Monday emphasized the importance of focus, determination and professionalism in the face of evolving challenges in law enforcement.

This is coming with the launching of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) as part of his vision of emplacing a police force that is professionally competent and service-driven in strengthening national security.

IGP Egbetokun, has commended the operatives of the (SIS) for their dedication and resilience as they successfully conclude their intensive tactical training program.

‘The completion of this rigorous training underscores the commitment of the SIS to ensure safety and security in our communities, as emphasized by the Inspector-General of Police on the assumption of duty.”

The closing ceremony held at the Police Mobile Force training camp, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State, which had in attendance, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Engineer Abdullahi Sule as the special guest of honour, the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Police Affairs, the Chairman Police Service Commission, Stakeholders, and delegates from the US Embassy.”

According to a statement by the Force Public Relation Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, IGP Egbetokun, noted that the event signifies a milestone in the SIS initiative, which would soon be enacted in all states across the country.

In his address, the governor of Nasarawa State commended the Inspector General of Police and his team for the establishment of the squad and the timely training of its members.

Also the Minister of Police Affairs, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to consistently supply the essential resources required for efficient policing across the nation.

“As the SIS transitions into their operational roles equipped with enhanced skills and renewed determination, the IGP reassures the public that the police force is dedicated to maintaining peace and order and will continue to invest in training and resources, ensuring that officers of the Nigeria Police are prepared to effectively and adequately respond to dynamics of crime and criminality in Nigeria. “
