The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Katsina State has called for stronger media partnership to promote government programmes and deepen national values, as part of efforts to build a disciplined and patriotic society.
The Acting State Director of the Agency, Haruna Malumfashi, made the call during a courtesy visit to the General Manager of Katsina State Radio, where he said the NOA was ready to strengthen collaboration with media organisations, particularly the state-owned radio station.
Malumfashi in a statement by the commission on Thursday says the partnership would help amplify government activities across the three tiers of government, while sustaining the trust and confidence that already exists between the Agency and the radio station.
He highlighted the National Identity Project, an initiative of the Director-General of the NOA, Lanre Issa Onilu, describing it as a key programme designed to instil discipline, hard work and responsible citizenship among Nigerians.
The Acting State Director appealed to the management of Katsina State Radio to support the project through sustained sensitisation programmes aimed at transforming citizens’ attitudes and lifestyles at the state and national levels.
He also explained the rationale behind the Agency’s “7-for-7 Agenda,” urging media houses to help take the initiative to the grassroots in order to promote patriotism, discipline and national unity.
As part of the visit, Malumfashi presented copies of the reintroduced National Identity Project booklets to the radio station to support public enlightenment, including guidance on the correct use of the new National Anthem.
